Community is at the core of our mission and drives our continued dedication to serving the city of Oakland and Alameda County. Our volunteers, staff, clients, and neighbors continually inspire, strengthen, and enrich us through their presence and contributions at our distribution.
In 2024, we were fortunate to receive support from both returning and new volunteers, the dedicated staff of the Oakland Public Library at the Melrose Branch, the students at the Ala Costa Center, as well as the staff, student helpers, and parents of Fremont High School students. We were also supported by our clients, the local Oakland community, and our nearby neighbors. Together, we navigated challenging times, supported one another through unexpected events, and worked to lift each other up.

The Bay Area Street Pantry has consistently operated as part of a collaborative, multi-partner initiative. We firmly believe in the power of collective effort and excel when partnering with like-minded individuals and organizations.
Our ongoing partnership with the Oakland Public Library system, particularly the Melrose Branch, has enabled us to achieve six years of consistent distribution in East Oakland. 2024 also marked our second year of distribution at Fremont High School, where we experienced a significant increase in our client base.
In 2024, the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) remained our primary source of food. We take pride in collaborating with them to distribute over 145,000 pounds of food in Alameda County.
